KAHOOT TOOL IN EDUCATION

In order to  implement 21^st century environment, most teachers are eager to  use various of digital technology in the classroom. For this first entry, I use Kahoot for my tool in teaching my students. This is my Physics Class which is Class 402 and we are doing some revision on Force & Motion & Pressure.

This is not my first time using this tool as I already use it since my part time job as Tuition Teacher while going through my journey as a Master Degree Student. Alhamdulillah as I can say that this tool is one of the best technology that teachers should use in their class.

Introduction of Kahoot To Students

I introduce to them what is Kahoot and how to use this tool. I show to them what is the advantage of this tool when we apply on learning. When we finish discussing on certain topic, we will use this tool as evaluation task. Students will compete each other to answer several questions about that topic at the end of the class. This can help them to improve their thinking skills and they have a lot of fun doing this activity. Before the activity starts, I ask them to choose their partner and make several teams to play Kahoot. We can choose either to play in individual or team. Students use school computers as their devices and they need to key in the Game Pin in order to join my Kahoot Slot.

I start the game and students are focusing for all questions. I create 17 questions about Force & Motion & Pressure. Each question need to be answer in 10 seconds. Diagram below show example of questions.

Diagrams above show the results and feed back from students. After students finish answer all questions,they can see which groups are at first place, second place, and third place. It is optional for teacher to give reward for them. I took their result as their extra marks for final exam. From those feedback, i can see that most students having fun and they say that they learned something from this activity. 99% of the students like this activity and recommend this tools for other topics. From this Kahoot, teacher can record their feedback and analyze the data from excel about summary and each question that students already answer. For me, this tool is amazing and good for 21st Century of learning which using technology as students might focus and having fun while learning.
